About the author (2004)

Nancy Burns-Silver, was born and raised in New York City. Everything turned upside down when she learned she had multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. Dr. Subhash Gulait is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Cornell University Weill Medical College. He is an attending physician at the New York Presbyterian Hospital.
