About the author (1992)

Loyde H. Hartley (BA, Otterbein College; BD, United Theological Seminary; PhD, Emory University), former dean of Lancaster Theological Seminary, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is Professor and Director of the Research Center in Religion and Society there and author of Understanding Church Finances (1984), A Study of Clergy Morale (1980), and several articles and research reports related to city ministry.
