Front Cover
NAL Books, 1986 - Cooking - 301 pages
Abstract: Based upon the premise that eating right improves health, increases resistance, boosts energy, and even extends life, this book is intended to show the reader that changing one's current diet, food and cooking habits can only help the way one looks and feels. Furthermore, the content is based on a belief that the immune system will function far more efficiently by manipulating the good and ill effects of nutritions; each individual has a distinct set of immune reactions to various foods. Cow's milk wheat, brewer's/baker's yeasts, eggs, corn, soy products and cane sugar are regarded by the author as the main offenders regarding allergenic symptoms. To help the reader tailor a diet to gain relief, three diet plans are offered: elimination, reintroduction, and maintenance. Before getting started on these diets, the reader is introduced to a lesson on the basic elements of proper nutrition, cooking/shopping tips for getting started, with emphasis on the types of foods to buy. Several recipes and a nutritional analysis chart are included.
