This edition was conceived and compiled to meet the need for a comprehensive book for practitioners, academics, and students on the research of emotions in organizational behavior. The book is the first of its kind to incorporate organizational behavior and bounded emotionality. The editors' primary aim is to communicate the research presented at the bi-annual International Conference on Emotions and Organizational Life to a wider audience. This edition looks at the range of research on emotions within an organizational behavior framework; organized in terms of the individual, interpersonal, and organizational levels. Particular emphasis has been placed on obtaining the leading research in the international sphere. This book is intended to be useful to the student of organizational behavior, as well as to the managers of organizations.

About the author (2005)

CHARMINE E. J. HARTEL is Senior Lecturer in HRM and Organizational Behavior and Development, The University of Queensland. With more than 20 years' industry experience, her research and consultancies in the U.S. and Australia extend into the areas of emotions and cognition, intercultural relations, and the design, analysis, and implementation of human resource management activities.

WILFRED J. ZERBE is Associate Dean for planning and development, University of Calgary, Canada, and a professor of human resource management and organizational dynamics.

Neal M. Ashkanasy is Professor of Management in the UQ Business School at the University of Queensland. His PhD is in Social and Organizational Psychology, also from the University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management. His research focuses on the role of emotion in organizational life, as well as leadership, culture, and ethics. He has published over 100 articles, including in leading peer-reviewed journals such as the "Academy of Management Journal", the "Academy of Management Review", and the "Journal of Management". Prof. Ashkanasy is Editor-in-Chief of the" Journal of Organizational Behavior", Associate Editor for "Emotion Review", and series editor for "Research on Emotion in Organizations". He administers two ListServs (Orgcult The Organizational Culture Caucus; and Emonet Emotions in Organizations) with a combined subscription of over 1500.
