Her husband Jake is an experienced, well thought of veteran police detective. He loves his home and was very happy to meet and marry Elisa, his second wife. He brought to their marriage his former father-in-law, Mac and little son Jeremy. Elisa and Jake have a daughter, Janelle, in common. This family nucleus must deal with the highly charged emotional trauma of a home invasion on more than one level.
