About the AuthorGwendolyn Jett Gattison, known as Gwen, is a native of Darlington, South Carolina, where she and her husband, Mr. Jack Gattison, currently reside. They have one son, Rion Timothy Gattison. Gwen is employed with a local health care center as an executive secretary. She is also the owner of two businesses-a graphic design and event planning business, and she is owner of her own cosmetic business.She is a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College, Florence, South Carolina, earning an associate degree in secretarial science and a graduate of Morris College of Sumter, South Carolina, where she graduated cum laude and earned her bachelor of science in business management. She also has been trained and certified as a Triple P practitioner by the University of South Carolina.Gwen is very active in the community as well as her local church. She is a member of the Pee Dee Coalition for health care careers, a member of United Brethren in Action, past member of the International Association for Administrative Professionals, and serves on the advisory board for Administrative Office Technology of Florence-Darlington Technical College.Gwen is also active in the Williamson-Lyde-Gandy-Hunter family reunion. She recently organized the first Jett-Stevenson family gathering in Darlington, South Carolina. She serves on various committees at her job.Gwen is a lifelong member of the historical Round O Missionary Baptist Church, Darlington, South Carolina. She is a member of the Deaconess Ministry, Missionary Ministry, advisor to the Young Women Auxiliary, advisor to the Hospitality Ministry, coach for the Point of Grace Ministry, member of the Homecoming and Anniversary Committee, recipient of the 2009 "Women of the Year" award, past secretary of the spiritual choir, past chairman of the planning committee, and past administrative assistant for the administrative board.She enjoys reading, gardening, planning events, and serving humanity.
