John Wesley Among the Physicians: A Study of Eighteenth-century MedicineWesley's view of health and disease was essentially theological. The most enlightened physicians of his time placed the vis medicatrix naturae centrally in their therapy, and used such methods as they thought would assist and not hinder her healing power.
