Lost: a True Story of Navigating the Healthcare System Against the Tide and into Gastroparesis: A True Story of Navigating the Healthcare System Against the Tide and into GastroparesisAs I became more and more ill over time I attempted to navigate through our healthcare system for help. I saw many doctors through this process and was astounded at the lack of care and intervention displayed. The healthcare system took me through a nightmare for two years as I continued to deteriorate and slowly starve. This system, that I am a part of as a registered nurse, left me to fend for myself and shattered my faith in the institution I was a part of. I became a part of this system after experiencing the better side of healthcare while growing up with a chronic illness. Somewhere throughout the years this system failed. |
