Seafood Lover's Almanac

Front Cover
National Audubon Society, 2000 - Cooking - 120 pages
Seafood Lover's Almanac is a celebration of fish. As any seafood connoisseur knows from the perspective of palate, not all fish are equal. Their many differences also extend to their living styles, where they come from, how they're caught, how fishing is managed & how they're doing. Though the ready availability of seafood in the marketplace can lead to the false impression that all is well, some species are doing better than others. Seafood Lover's Almanac, a combination recipe book & field guide, helps readers become more familiar with the seafood they eat. This book is colorfully illustrated with factual & whimsical art. It delves into the natural & sometimes eccentric lives of fish & shellfish. Nutrition & health information, alternative choices to species in trouble, the forms they're found in the marketplace & recipes, are interspersed throughout. With the Audubon Fish Scale color bar featured on every profile, seafood lovers can see at a glance how a particular species is doing.
