Lily's life in a city surrounded by mountains had the perfect background for a happy beginning. However, from a very young age, she had to learn to accept her dysfunctional parents and the monsters that didn't live in her closet or under her bed but only outside her house. Until eighteen years old, she repressed unpleasant events that took her innocence and left her suicidal. Unhappy with her life in Terni, she immigrated to Toronto, where she found peace within, until her ugly past reemerged and unleashed in her the desire to die. She had vowed to never set foot on her native land. As the ghosts of her past howled at her, she decided to go back home to deal with her angst. Her trip to her native land brought back flashes of her childhood years, the ugly memories that shaped her character, and the drive to be successful despite all the grief.
