This is a good book. MSA Rao has done excellent research. He captures the social setup of India during the Independence period.
Mr. Rao, was a lesser known sociology author. His work is largely known to be prejuidiced against elite north indian catsteslike - Thakurs, Kshatriyas and Yadavs. He grew up in Telugu family, developed hatred against better looking and educated aryans of north india, like most dravidians. His book is highly controversial as he mentions in his books that traditionally well respected kshatriya castes like yadavas were non elite. This caste had formed Big Kingdom, Yadav Kingdom, with capital in devanagir, before invasion of muslims led by alaudin khilji. Lord Krishna, An Indian god is considered to be one of the kings oof this dynasty.
Due to his personal enimity with this community , he tried to malign the image in this book. This book has very poor reviews and is out of publication. It is shunned by sociologist, and has never been used in Indian sociology circles.
My passion as a pshyxoanalyst is to go through the mind of these prejudiced authors spewing hatred about other races/ Literary genocide as I call it. I found this book as a pathetic attempt to this.
