This book is interesting because it bears out information in previous books. If you have read Peter Brown's book, or Geoff Emerick's book or any number of others, it is abundantly clear that Miles' analysis of the group and member contribtutions is pretty accurate. From late 1966 or early 1967 onward, lennon was primarily a drug addled ignoramous whose contribtions are memorable thanks to McCartney, Martin, Emorick and the rest of the group. By 1968, lennon had moved onto heroin and contributed NOTHING to McCartney's music, while McCartney still did his best to help lennon (example: Come Together). This may bust the balloon of the various Lennon worhipers out there who blindly adore St. John. Most, I suspect, are without a clue when it comes to music.
