It was very suspenseful like all the other Hardy Boys books I've read so far. Joe and Frank Hardy's father,Fenton Hardy the famous detective,is on a case in Lucky Lode looking for a man called Big Al who he suspected was in the area. Fenton's guess was right. Big Al was in the neighborhood and he was going after him after his sons.

Its an awsome version of detectivity and real life incidents and hsow how mafia and piracy are present there even today.
