A good read with page after page of great old photos of the great old growth logging boom in 1880s through 1950s West Virginia. The old Shay and Climax steam locomotives came to the Mountain State and took the virgin timber away and this book tells that story in pictures and in Roy B. Clarkson's description of those events. Nice book if you like logging and steam power. Sad that the state was devastated by the unregulated timber industry’s carelessness in the those early days.
