About the author (1998)

Malcolm Hillier's lifelong passion for entertaining through flowers and cooking is evident through his many books including Flowers: The Book of Floral Design, Christmas, and DK Living: Entertaining. Mr. Hillier owns a flower shop in London and divides his time between his homes in London and on the Caribbean island of Saba.

Ward is a poet, critic, and translator. He was educated at Stanford, University College in Dublin (where he was a Fulbright Scholar), and Columbia. He taught several years at the Fieldston School in Riverdale, New York.
