About the author (2006)

Norfolk first told stories as a national park ranger at the St. Louis Gateway Arch. AS a stand-up comic, he has opened shows for Roberta Flack, B.B. King, and Lou Rawls. As a storyteller, he has won3 Emmy awards and 2 Parent's Choice Gold Awards.

Dr. Sander M. Fields was raised in Detroit, Michigan and earned a B.S. in pharmacy from Wayne State University. He operated his own drugstore before pursuing a doctorate in chiropractic at Sherman College of Chiropractic. Fields earned his degree in 1983 and soon founded Fields Chiropractic Clinics of Columbia. His two sons followed in his footsteps and are chiropractic physicians as well as certified family nurse practitioners. Dr. Andrew Fields and Dr. James Fields own and operate a full health care facility in Columbia South Carolina. Dr. Sander Fields is retired and married for 46 years to the love of his life, Suzanne Fields, a retired school teacher. Dr. Fields and "Suzi" have five grandchildren, Player, Parker, Allie, Elizabeth, and Andrew, who all live around the block from them. His hobbies include swimming, reading, ballroom dancing, gardening, photography, and most of all, spending time with his family.
