This book changed my code style to perfection.

Great book. It is a beautiful, strong dose of formalism critically needed in as new area as the software engineering. Although most of it is very technical, it also says why things work the way they are and gives a lot of examples and comments, reaching the state in which the reader sees a lot of aspects and trends in a programming process.
It really makes writing code more systematic and intuitive, such that
the rules of coding (repeated so frequently by different people) become easy to apply and a programmer no longer needs to fear that his code, or what he does with his code will not be understood by others.
Reading this book really helps to move a reader from having a purely technical point of view and problems with seing and explaining the whole picture to point where the true transparent management of programming process is possible.

A great book showing a new look of improving once written code.

The value in this book is in teaching you to recognize "code smells." These are problems with your design that you might not even realize are problems because they are so common in the code we see every day. Some people find the refactoring steps useful, but they are the least important aspect of this book.
