About the author (1995)

Kay Mills's writing has appeared in The New York Times, Mother Jones, The Progressive and numerous other magazine and newspapers. A former editorial writer for the Los Angeles Times, she is the recipient of many awards for her work. The author of This Little Light of Mine: The Life of Fannie Lou Hammer, and From Pocahontas to Power Suits:Everything You Need to Know About Women's History in America (both Plume), she lives in Santa Monica, California.
