the almanac part is obviouly outdated, yet full of varied articles still useful as springboards for other info to investigate, so worth a look in that regard. typical llewellyn criticisms apply - take with skepticism until verified by an author who actually cites references. Read full review

About the author (1997)

An internationally renowned astrologer, author and teacher, Gloria has been a professional astrologer for over two decades. She has written written the Sun Sign Book for Llewellyn since 1990, and has been a contributing author of the Moon Sign Book since 1995. Her most recent work, Astrology: Woman to Woman, was released by Llewellyn in April 1999. She is the author of Optimum Child: Developing Your Child's Fullest Potential through Astrology, now translated into four languages. She also edited and co-authored the book Astrology for Women: Roles and Relationships (Llewellyn 1997). Her astrological computer software, Woman to Woman, was released by Matrix Software in 1997. Ms. Star has contributed to two anthologies -- Houses: Power Places in the Horoscope (Llewellyn 1990), and How to Manage the Astrology of Crisis (Llewellyn 1993).
Listed in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the East, Gloria is active within the astrological community, where she has been honored as a nominee for the prestigious Regulus Award. She has served on the faculty of the United Astrology Congress (UAC) since its inception in 1986, and has lectured for groups and conferences throughout the U.S.A. and abroad.

Wall is a certified aromatherapist, writer and longtime student of the Edgar Cayce readings.

In early 1987, Penny Kelly and her husband, Jim, purchased fifty-seven acres of land, complete with a 100-year-old house, a dilapidated barn, and two small vineyards. At the time they knew nothing about raising grapes. Since then, they have remodeled the house into a rental property, and turned the barn into their home, office, and small learning center. They are in the process of restoring the soil, vineyards, and some of the natural habitat that had been lost. In addition to her BA, Penny has earned a degree in naturopathic medicine, and is working toward a Ph.D. in nutrition.

Janina Renée is a scholar of folklore, psychology, medical anthropology, the material culture of magic, ritual studies, history, and literature.nbsp;Her books include Tarot Spells , Tarot Your Everyday Guide (winner of 2001 Coalition of Visionary Resources award for best Self Help book), Tarot for a New Generation (2002 COVR winner, best General Interest Title), and By Candlelight: Rites for Celebration, Blessing and Prayer (2005 COVR runner-up, Spirituality).nbsp;Janina continues to work on multiple books, with ongoing research projects exploring the ways folk magic and medicinal techniques can apply to modern problems, including the modulation of Asperger's Syndrome and other neuro-sensory processing problems.
