Fertilizer Requirements of Cacao (Theobroma Cacao L.) in South-western NigeriaIn the first three chapters information is given on the cacao industry and on the climate and soils in general and cacao soils in particular of the main cacao growing area of South-Western Nigeria. In the next chapter (4) a study on soil moisture is presented. In view of the long dry season the soil moisture relationships are the main factor determining the suitability of the soil for cacao. This chapter is followed by one on soil phosphorus which was found to be the main nutritional factor limiting yield as shown by the results of the fertilizer trials reported in chapter 6. |
