On The Road
Read this during college graduation week in June of 1962 and immediately after getting the hard earned degree, I hit the road hitching across the US from Brooklyn to Long Beach. Thanks to
Jack I had one of the greatest timees of my life. Too bad it can't be done in the 21st century as easily as back in the day. Reading it again, and soon to reread Orwells "Down And Out In Paris And London".

Long and winding tale of a few young men looking for happiness in all the wrong places. A description of their lives, unhindered by any form of plot or character development. Superb writing, but going nowhere slow.

An almost silly book, with our hero trying to be a person he is not while chasing around after a rather shiftless and self-absorbed friend. Almost meaningless in its lack of self-recognition, truly style over substance. But what style! Read full review
