About the author (2010)

Selvin has covered pop music for The San Francisco Chronicle since 1970. He is the author of several books on the subject.

Greil Marcus is the author of "Invisible Republic," "Dead Elvis," "Lipstick Traces," & "Mystery Train." His pieces have appeared in a wide range of publications, including "Artforum," "Interview," "The New Yorker," "The New York Times," & "Esquire." He will be teaching at Princeton & Berkeley in fall 2000.

Marshall is know as one of the great photographers of musicians and entertainers, having more than 500 album and CD covers to his credit.
