Ever since he killed in self-defence a known drug lord of the Sinaloa region, David Valenzuela has been in great danger. Hunted down by drug dealers, guerrillas, the police chief, and the bloodthirsty relatives of his victim, the fugitive is also pursued by a beautiful woman who desires him. Since intelligence is not one of his virtues, it must be his good luck and his extraordinary talent as a pitcher, not to mention his fabulous ninety-mile run, that takes him from the mountains of Chacala to the violent city of Culiacan and from there onto Los Angeles, where he will finally know why a representative of the LA Dodgers has been looking for him and who is that mysterious woman who invited him to her bed, a singer whom he only knew as Janis.
