Rowland lookout when Titan hit-runs a small ship, refuses bribe to silence, is drugged by Captain so story of hit-run will be ignored--just before Titan smashes onto an underwater ice shelf of a berg. Rowland thrown onto berg with wreckage and child of jilted lover during collision. Rowland is maimed fighting a bear, then both rescued from berg. An row ensues over insurance, story continues.....
