Lothrop, Lee and Shepard Company, 1938 - Country life - 186 pages
Peddler John makes his way to the mountain settlement of Gunthrie's Mill in the Deep South where he meets nine-year-old Posey Tucker, an invalid who makes quilts. She decides to make one for the peddler, and it is delivered to him at the County Hospital where he is recovering from a wagon accident. The hospital staff is so impressed with her quilt and moved by her story that they send a doctor out to Gunthrie's Mill to examine her. Finally, she is restored to health once more.
