3.75 stars. I think this is a fun book to recommend for younger teen girls. And I thought the multiple view points and use of color and illustrations added a nice feel to the story. I didn't have any expectations for this going in so I may have enjoyed it more than those expecting more. Read full review

About the author (2012)

Jodi Picoult grew up in Nesconset, New York. She received an A.B. in creative writing from Princeton and a master's degree in education from Harvard. Her previous novels include House Rules, Nineteen Minutes, and My Sister's Keeper. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband and three children.

Samantha van Leer is sixteen years old and a junior in high school. She conceived the idea for the fairy tale BETWEEN THE LINES and pitched it to her mom, Jodi Picoult, who was in the middle of a book tour. In her spare time, Samantha can be found playing softball, doing contemporary dance, acting and singing in musicals, and cuddling on the ground with her three dogs, Dudley, Alvin, and Oliver - for whom the prince in BETWEEN THE LINES was named.
