About the author (2008)

William Sears, M.D., received his pediatric training at Harvard Medical School's Children's Hospital & Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, the largest children's hospital in the world. He has practiced as a pediatrician for nearly thirty years & is a former assistant professor at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He & Martha Sears are the parents of eight children.

Robert Sears is a board certified pediatrician in private practice with his father, William Sears. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University and completed his pediatric training at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. He is the co-author of The Baby Book (revised edition), The Premature Baby Book, and The Baby Sleep Book.

Sears is a board-certified pediatrician at the Sears Family Pediatric Practice in San Clements, Calif.

Martha Sears, R.N., is a registered nurse, childbirth educator, & breastfeeding consultant. She & her husband, William Sears, M.D., are the parents of eight children.
