Entrega información completa y sencilla a la vez que las consideraciones tacticas y estratégicas de las campañas soberbias de Anibal, intentando ser imparcial y no inflexible en los juicios tanto de vencedores como de vencidos; puesto que las fuentes originales, son en demasía parciales, por ejemplo, señalando a los caratgineses como verdaderos "criminales" según constan en los textos romanos y a su vez consideran a sus consules o pretores derrotados como hombres ineptos para el arte de la guerra.
