About the author (1998)

Steven Gaydos is the managing editor of special reports at Variety. A veteran of the international film business for 25 years both as a screenwriter and an entertainment journalist, Gaydos has attended festivals both notable and obscure in such diverse locales as the U.S., France, the U.K., and Eastern Europe. His film work has won several festival awards and recognitions, including prizes at Venice and Rotterdam.
