About the author (1994)

Almudena Grandes won the XI Sonrisa Vertical Prize for her first novel The Ages of LulA at the age of 29. Since then every one of her books has increased her wide readership: I'll Call You Friday, Malena is a Tango Name, Models of Woman, Atlas of Human Geography, and The Wind from the East.

Alina Reyes was born in 1956 near Bordeaux, in France, where she lives. She is the author of an erotic novel that brought her world wide fame, The Butcher, which was translated into 25 languages. She has also published When You Love it is Time to Leave (1993), Behind the Door (1994), and The Womens' Body (1999), My Sweet Life (2001) and her latest non fiction book is Politics of Love. Grove will publish her erotic novel, Satisfaction, in August 2004.
