About the author (2007)

Denise Mina is the author of ten previous novels, including the Garnethill Trilogy, the first installment of which won the Crime Writers' Association John Creasey Dagger Award for best first crime novel. She writes for the popular graphic novel series Hellblazer and was selected by the Stieg Larsson estate to adapt The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and its two sequels for the official DC Comics graphic novel series. Her novel The End of the Wasp Season was the winner of the 2012 Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award and Gods and Beasts was shortlisted for the 2013 award. Mina lives in Glasgow.
