if you want to be a reviewer you have to start with the facts which are that HP created a genre and a style which you accept or not ? the genre has a theme of puny humans surrounded by monstrous forces and the writing aims to conjur up an atmosphere of menace. I recommend it as the H P style of prose which succeeds in creating the intended mental atmosphere ?
