Originally published in 1998, this award-winning set was named an LJ Best Reference title as well as an ALA/RUSA Outstanding Reference Source. Now available in paperback, it covers the same ground, with no additional features or coverage but for less than a third the cost (the price of the original was a whopping $1250). The six volumes are attractively slipcased and designed to stand up to heavy use despite the binding. Every type of dance is covered (e.g., social, folk, theatrical) as well as every country and historical period.
