Colonel Harry G. Summers, Jr. (Ret.), is a syndicated columnist for the "Los Angeles Times." He frequently appeared as a television commentator during the Gulf War and is the author of "On Strategy: A Critical Analysis of the Vietnam War" and "On Strategy II: A Critical Analysis of the Gulf War." He lives in Bowie, Maryland.
