Ajzen's (1991) Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) serves as the conceptual framework for this research. This theory explains and predicts the decision-making process of students who are choosing between course options. Students who are selecting courses are influenced by their attitudes, perceptions of their levels of control, and pressure they feel regarding course selection decisions. This study identified factors influencing students' course selection decisions, including the anticipated quality of teaching, prior experiences within disciplines, preferences for a particular discipline, and sources of course advice.
