The book is wonderful and an accessible read. It's really meant for families trying to understand how to get their child financial aide for college.

is incorrect.
"About the author (1995)
Black is Lecturer in Geography in the School of African and Asian Studies, University of Sussex."
No, he's not. At least the author of this book is not and wasn't when he wrote it. Richard W. Black was the Financial Aid Director at UC Berkeley, who went on to become the Vice-Chancellor of Admissions there until his retirement a few years ago. He still lives in the East Bay near Berkeley with his wife, an artist and retired art teacher, Donna.
