Conflict in Korea: An Encyclopedia

This invaluable encyclopedia explores all aspects of the conflict in Korea, principally from 1945 to the present. The A-to-Z entries, many of them illustrated, cover people, events, places, political parties, treaties and agreements, the origins of the conflict, and the involvement of the superpowers, China, and the United Nations. A substantial number of the entries deal with the Korean War itself, but many others focus on developments since the ceasefire of July 1953.
Entries include the 1987 Korean Airlines bombing, allegedly by North Korean agents, and the 1996 and 1998 sightings of a North Korean submarine off the South Korean coast.
Of further use to readers are a chronology, maps, bibliography, and subject index.
