First half is something most will want to read. Second half is less so. Sorokin's life was pretty amazing. I'm beginning research in 'love' and 'freedom' (in divine and human being), so it was of interest to me. A classic.

About the author

Sorokin was a controversial figure in twentieth-century sociology and a pioneer in the scientific study of unlimited love. He served as the founding chairman of the sociology department of Harvard University and established the Harvard Research Center in Creative Altruism.
