Criminal Justice and the Policy Process
This text acquaints the student with a framework for the analysis of criminal justice policy by distinguishing between policy, procedures, and rules. The student will cover how a formulation battle is lost; the art of policy implementation; and the importance and craft of policy evaluation. The main goal of this text is to equip students with the tools and knowledge necessary for the effective formulation, implementation, and evaluation of policy as it relates to crime and its etiology.
