Istanbul Gathering tells the story of a circle of friends in the heady expatriate scene of 1960s and 70s Istanbul. Protagonist Andrew Malone has returned after an absence of twenty years to see his ex-wife and old friends. The narrative follows them over the course of a single day as they reflect on their lives and on the history of the city before meeting for a reunion dinner.
