The story is a satire on big business and politics disguised into a cleverly woven and wildly funny detective story. The main protagonist- a lunatic and petty criminal - turns out to be much more sane, intelligent and honest than anybody else. The book can also be read as a satire on itself and a detective story in general. I really liked this book. It made me chuckle out loud. It took me a while to get used to the language of the narration: convoluted sentence structure punctuated with sentence fragments that were to mirror the convoluted and complex tale of the lunatic turned petty criminal turned hairdresser. It easily took over the other four books that I was reading at the time.

Third in a trilogy. On par with the first two. Very funny.
