About the author (2002)

For Jan Eliot, cartooning started out as therapy and evolved into a career. She drew her first cartoons when she was a newly divorced mom trying to juggle raising two daughters with a full-time job. Stone Soup is still loosely based on her family and friends and the real world around her.

It appears in more than two-thousand newspapers worldwide, in twenty countries, and in eight languages, reaching 220 million readers every day.
