I really love the Message Bible. It is put in the easiest language that I've ever read. This version puts it into plain language, so you'll say now I understand that verse, or this really makes the point.
Poorly researched. Adds to, removes from, and mistranslates original sources. Disconnects Old Testament prophecies from New Testament fulfillment. NIV or CEV uses more natural contemporary language than The Message's sometimes-fabricated wording.
