This book provides a vivid description of the hardships faced by inner city black communities but also offers meaningful recommendations on how to overcome it. It basically argues that the structural conditions like concentration of poverty and unemployment produces cultural ways to view things that may not be compatible from the ways people from other settings view those things. It is must reading for people who wants to have a varied understanding on how this world is lived by different people.
