FAMILY MEDICINE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE is a classic, comprehensive text thoroughly revised and substantially expanded providing clear guidelines for diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses regularly seen in family practice. The sixth edition continues to present the family practice approach to health care while retaining the clinical focus. New chapters cover Family Issues in Health Care, Selected Problems in Aging, Home Care, Medical Informatics, the Internet and Telemedicine, as well as the lastet news on Hormone Replacement Therapy and the timely area of Bioterrorism. A new section titled The Future of Family Medicine has been added. In addition, new topics are covered within other chapters, such as autistic spectrum disorderm HIV and AIDS in infants and children, Hantavirus infection, ischemic bowel syndromes, the human genome and helping patients with Medicare.
