Pan Am One Hundred and Three
On December 21, 1988, Pam Am flight 103 exploded at 31,000 plus feet over the town of Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 people on board, plus 11 people on the ground. Among the victims was Theodora Cohen, 20-year-old daughter and only child of Susan and Daniel Cohen. This is the Cohen's story of how their daughter was murdered and of their eleven-year struggle to bring those responsible to justice. They describe the complex forensics that led to the indictment of two agents of the Libyan government. They relate Pam Am's efforts to evade responsibility for lax security, the U.S. government's desire to politically distance itself from the case, and the upcoming international trial in the World Court (to begin in early May '00) in the Hague, in which two Libyans will be tried under Scottish law. The book is a fascinating behind-the-scenes study of the betrayals, cover-ups, and scandals that resulted in the deadliest terrorist act against Americans in history. Above all, it is a deeply personal story, told with passion by parents who refused to be silenced.

Sadly, this poor mother who lost an only child, bought the govt. Line that guadafi was the lone culprit. Evidence exposed 20 years later shows the libyan madman was on the CIA payroll since 1977. It was the Ahmed Jibril PFLP GC based in Syria who killed the Cohen's daughter, paid $ 10 million by Iran, payback for the USS Vincenes mistaken shootdown of an Iran Air passenger jet six months prior to the bombing of Pan Am 103. Lester Coleman's book was right. And why the US Defense Intelligence Agency gave him the Directors Medal Award of Merit.
