This story was written because it needed to be told.  How many times have I talked to the surviving members of my family and reminisced about how we grew up.  There was always someone who would say, “we could write a book!” I want to particularly thank my older sister Rita who has giving me a lot of information about what happened prior to my recollections and also to my Sister, Rose Marie who keeps  saying, “we could write a book!”  Rita, Rose Marie and I are the remnants of this story’s family.

The incidents in this book are true.  Because of unavailable first hand information, some of the events and names may not portray exactly how things happened.
