I know that this book is considered a classic, the pioneer in the genre of cyberpunk, and all around awesome, but I'm going to admit: I had to force myself to keep trudging through it. In fact ... Read full review

Although I was quite an SF buff in my teens and in college (relatively speaking) I didn't keep up with it - mainly due to lack of supply rather than anything else! I was really glad to come across a ... Read full review

While some concepts (like the meat puppets) were extremely interesting, the overall plot didn't do much for me. It's definitely worth reading, if only to see where many cyber-punk stories started out, but I wouldn't read it again. Read full review

Very similar to Snow Crash in many ways. I liked it, but just like Snow Crash, the plot seems kinda weak and like its only there to allow the author to talk about cool tech. Another thing is that it is clearly served as the inspiration for the Matrix. So much of it is very similar to the movies. Read full review

After getting through to the end of this book I would say it was worth the read but I did struggle with it at times. The author does the reader no favors here and there were times where I felt like I ... Read full review

Read this in college. It's one of the fore-runners of cyberpunk, and while some may find it confusing, I thought it very innovative and enjoyable. I particularly liked Molly's character, who was hip and fun. A definite "must-read" for sci-fi fans. Read full review

In this book, the main character, Case, entertains two different frames of mind within the book; one a depressed and hopeless state, and one a free, unlimited, bordering-on-ecstatic state. Case's ... Read full review

I probably would have liked this book a lot more if I hadn't read Snow Crash first. It also may have had more impact on me if I'd read it (or been a mature enough reader to read it) when it first was published - 1984. However, I didn't and it ended up being just and "okay" read. Read full review
