About the author (2003)

Allen Johnson Jr., born and raised in Mountain Brook, Alabama, graduated from the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey in 1954 and then attended the University of Alabama. He served two years in the Army, stationed in Germany, and then received a degree in botany from the University of Miami. He lived in Vermont for 23 years, where he founded the Vermont State Craft Center, studied jazz guitar and produced guitar study material with noted jazz guitarist, Barry Galbraith.
