About the author (2010)

Christina Paulette Colón has three great passions in life: nature, teaching, and travel. She has been everywhere from Borneo (where she lived for 2 years) to Bonaire. With a Ph.D. in Ecology and a Master's in Environmental Education, she is a talented educator, an accomplished writer, and an experienced editor (of everything from scientific articles to children’s books).

Alexis Lipsitz Flippin is a freelance writer and former Frommer's senior editor. She is the author of Frommer's Portable St. Maarten/St. Martin, Anguilla & St. Barts and Frommer's Portable Turks & Caicos and has written and edited for consumer magazines including Self, American Health, and Rolling Stone.

John Marino, the author of Frommer's Puerto Rico, lives in San Juan, where he covers local and political news for the San Juan Star as city editor. He has written about Puerto Rico for the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, and other publications.

A team of veteran travel writers, Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince have produced various titles for Frommer's including guides to Italy, France, Spain, England, and Germany. They have long covered the Caribbean "beat." Porter, in fact, once worked on a pioneering Frommer's guide called The Caribbean on $5 to $10 a Day. He wrote the first-ever edition of Frommer's Caribbean and, along with Prince, has also produced books to other islands—Jamaica, Barbados, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, and the Bahamas.
